Bishops

Bishops are a relatively weak piece, worth approximately three pawns due to the fact that they can only access squares of the same color they start on. Bishops are one of the simplest moving pieces. Their method of movement is to move on diagonals, as many squares in any direction as they desire. They cannot jump over pieces, and their method of capturing enemy pieces is to simply move onto the square that the enemy unit occupies. Here is a diagram showing how bishops move:
